Adriana Lima Models $2 Million Dollar Bra, Victoria Secret Denies BroBible at the Door

This morning when I turned on the TV I saw the Ariana Lima, the genetically-perfect Victoria Secret Angel, being interviewed while sporting a $2 million bra.  Then I noticed that she happened to be in the same Victoria Secret flagship store in Soho that's just a hop, skip, and jump from the BroBible office.  I immediately got on the train and made a bee-line for the store.  When I got there you could barely see the Brazilian model thanks to throngs of paparazzi. Determined to snap some photos, I wiggled my way through and I managed to get a few shots of the publicity stunt.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t on the list and they wouldn’t let me into the store to continue collecting photos.  If they only knew how much BroBible loves Adriana Lima and all of Victoria Secret’s models they may have been more inclined to let us in (for further proof, see here, here, here, here, here, and here). Check out Adriana Lima sporting a bra after the jump.

Velidhoo (Dhivehi: ވެލިދޫ) is one of the inhabited islands of the Noonu Atoll.

The origin of the first settlers of the Velidhu Island still remains a mystery. The historians date early settlers back to 5th century BC with the Aryan immigrants coming from neighboring countries India and Srilanka. According to early settlers the Veliduans we found today mix up of people from the near two islands in the atoll. The Magoodhoo and Tholhendhoo Island and today Velidhu is found as the island with highest population count within the atoll. The Veliduans' language is Dhivehi.

The island has a lot of historic monuments too and one of them is the presence of a tree (velidhu bodu nikagas), a tree which has been there for more than 5 centuries recorded. The island is said to be one of the greatest fishing area in the Maldives, Specially the Noonu Atoll within the atoll.

Much of the history of Velidhu is yet unknown but research and studies are being done and ongoing to find the mysteries hidden.

As fishing is very good we offer night fishing, big game fishing (full day) or traditional fishing, we can visit historical sites, we organize BBQ's on uninhabited islands, we organize Maldivian nights with Maldivian buffet and traditional music (Boduberu) and folk dance. We also have an uninhabited island where people can spend some time and experience how it is to feel like a true Robinson.

Like all islands in the Maldives we offer snorkeling and diving and soon hope to offer jet skiing and other related activities.

Tips for guests

Visas, passports, entry

For the Maldives you don't need a visa. You need a valid passport that is at least a month valid upon arrival. Upon arrival you will get a tourist visa / stamp which is valid for 30 days. In addition you will receive a a so-called embarkation card in the the aircraft. On this card you must fill in the name of the boat "The Blue Dolphin" as your place of stay. If you are travelling to one of the tourist islands or a hotel then you must fill out the name of that island or hotel as your place of stay. Everyone is picked up by us personally, we will be waiting after the customs and sliding doors with a sign which says "Blue Dolphin safari boat".

Import

The Maldives is an Islamic country where alcohol and pork import are not allowed. The goods are seized and you will get them back when you leave the country. There are no penalties, but it will cause a lot of delay. Customs is explicitly looking for bottles (alcohol) in the suitcases (X-Ray). Chips, cashew nuts, chocolate and other sweets can be taken into the country without problems (in your suitcase). Vaccinations are not necessary, the country is free of malaria and very clean, also the crime rate is extremely low. You will notice that the Maldivians are very friendly and helpful.

Payment

In the Maldives, the Maldivian Rufia (MRF) is the currency which is linked to the dollar, fixed exchange rate is 12.75 MRF for 1 US$. You can pay anywhere in dollars (small banknotes!) but they do not always have dollars as change. It is not very useful to exchange Rufia's in advance because most exchange offices do not have them and dollars are accepted everywhere. In the Maldives, it is not possible to exchange dollars or get dollars out of the cash machine (only Rufias) and they only accept new notes!

Telephone

Mobile phones work almost everywhere in the Maldives but charges are approximately € 10,- per minute. It can be useful to purchase a prepaid SIM card at the airport (approximately U.S. $ 5,-) because then calls and text messages will be much cheaper.

Sun

The Maldives are located almost at the equator and the sun can be very strong, so strong that people get sunburned in the shade. At 5:45am the sun rises and at 6:15pm the sun sets.

How to get here

There are some regular flights to the Maldives, listed below. Once you arrive in our International airport on 3 kilometer from our capital you will have to travel by speedboat or waterplane to get to one of the local islands where the guesthouses are situated. Because the distance is too great a normal dhoni is not an option.

Medical student gives birth on board Etihad flight

Aminath Raushan Khaleel, 24, was en route to Minsk with her husband where the two had to report for their new medical college before October 30 when she went into labour

Baby
A baby boy born to a Maldivian medical student on board Etihad before the diverted Trivandrum-Abu Dhabi flight could land at the Muscat International Airport is healthy and doing well with his mother.
When Gulf News correspondence visited the young Maldivian family at the Royal Hospital Sunday during visiting hours, the boy slept blissfully even as his young parents worried about next course of action, including how to inform their parents in Male.

Aminath Raushan Khaleel, 24, was travelling to Minsk with her husband where the two had to report for their new medical college before October 30. “My wife was due next month around 20th and we had to report before October 30 to complete our transfer from a Russian medical college to the college in Minsk, Belarus,” Aminath’s husband, who reluctantly gave his name as Abdullah Shahid, told Gulf News.
The two agreed to talk to Gulf News after much thought as they were worried about their parents reading about the incident before they could inform them.

“We had no choice but take flight so that we can report on time for our studies in medicine,” he said, adding that now they must complete all the formalities to reach Minsk on time.
The young couple is in complete dark how to go about the matter as both are busy at the Royal Hospital tending to their new-born son.
“We haven’t named him,” Aminath said. When suggested that why not give him a name that would remind them of from Oman, she asked what does Sultan means?
The two took flight from Trivandrum to Abu Dhabi where they were to take connecting flight to Minsk in Belarus.
But Aminath went into labour midair.
Once being told of her condition on board the flight, the pilot immediately diverted the plane to Muscat. However Aminath delivered a healthy baby boy 20 minutes before the flight landed.
Medical staff and an ambulance were ready to assist the mother and the newborn baby upon their arrival at Muscat, who along with the baby's father and Etihad crew members, were all assisted and transferred to the Royal Hospital.
“There was a trained nurse on board as a passenger and she helped in delivering the boy,” Aminath’s husband told Gulf News from the bedside of his wife and newly born baby boy.
He also praised the Etihad crew as well as ground staff at the Muscat International Airport. “They put us at ease and made everything smooth, including a top class hospital and medical facilities.”

Russell Brand And Katy Perry Plan Double Honeymoon

October 19, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): the wedding of British comedian/actor Russell Brand and pop singing sensation Katy Perry is going to take place very soon. The love birds are supposed to go on a double honeymoon after their Indian wedding. First the newly-wedded couple will head off to Mauritius and then to the nearby Maldives. The wedding date for this high-octane couple has been scheduled to take place in India on Sunday 24th October 2010.
A source close to the couple said that the double honeymoon is going to bowl over Katy Perry since she has wanted something like this for a long time. Russell chose Mauritius as the honeymoon destination because he had taken his mother Barbara to this location in 2006 and loved the place. Russell feels that his ‘Teenage Dream’ singer wife will love Mauritius and Maldives.
Reports suggest that the comedian has been consulting his mom about the wedding and honeymoon plans so that his wife can have the perfect time. With the double honeymoon the couple wants to have some alone time and take time off from their hectic schedules. Maldives and Mauritius holds a special place in Russell’s heart and we are sure Katy will love the beaches too.
Russell recently joked about having an Arctic wedding sometime in June and has the wedding conducted by a polar bear instead. Katy Perry and Russell brand will entertain their celebrity friends at a lavish Indian themed wedding in Rajasthan. Right after the wedding Brand and Perry will head off to their honeymoon destination and start their newly wedded life in the beach paradise.

Most predictions and opinions concerning 10/10/10 are based on or are rooted in its mathematical uniqueness as a number.
101010: There are three possible outcomes:
    1. Something good happens— There is absolutely no scientific basis for this belief. There are no known logical premises for this belief. The belief that something good will happen is based solely on spiritualism, faith, and/or innate optimism. This belief is not necessarily a bad thing; we don’t know everything; the probability is not zero.
    2. Nothing happens— This is the most likely scenario. Just because an unusual date number sequence occurs doesn’t mean that something will happen. Usually it’s a non-event.
    3. Something bad happens— There is absolutely no scientific basis for this belief. There are no known logical premises for this belief. The belief that something bad will happen is based solely on pessimism of reality. This belief is not necessarily false; after all, things are generally/usually a mess. The probability is not zero.

    10/10/10; Sunday, October 10, 2010: Mathematics

101010 (base two (binary)) equals 42 (base ten). Oddly enough, this is evenly divisible by the number of days in a week (7 (lucky)); and equally oddly, is also evenly divisible by the number 6 (which is generally designated as being unlucky). Both a Ying and Yang situation seem to be incorporated into this date.
    10 (base ten) = 1010 (base two)
    (base ten): 10 x 10 = 100
    (base two): 10 x 10 = 100
The binary attributes of 101010 lends itself to use by the sciences of fractals (recursive geometric shapes) and chaos theory (the butterfly effect)

    10/10/10; Sunday, October 10, 2010: Survey One:

What do you believe will happen on 10/10/10?

    • Something good will happen on a global scale.
    • Nothing will happen (just another day in the neighborhood).
    • Something bad will happen on a global scale.

    Update

    Welcome to Day 10/10/10!

Here are the Survey One results as of 1:10 AM U.S EDT:
    5248 votes.
    The Good: 45%
    The Neutral: 47%
    The Ugly: 9%
It has been decided, for no particular reason, to leave this poll online and active indefinitely.
The Survey Two results have remained at 70:30 for days, if not weeks. However, as of 1:10 AM, the percentages are 69:31.
In the event something extraordinary happens (good or bad); this page will become a before-and-after diary of the event.

See a bright star near the moon around September 18-23, 2010?

Are you seeing a very bright object low in the western sky after sunset? It’s Venus, the brightest planet. Venus is to appear at its very brightest as the evening “star” throughout the last week of September 2010.
Look outside shortly after sunset, and you can’t miss Venus. It’s an eerie light low in the southwestern sky. Venus’ brightness will surprise you if you’ve never noticed it before. It’s so bright that, around now, many people will report Venus as a UFO.

Newsweek Hails President Nasheed Among “World's Ten Best Leaders”

Newsweek magazine has fêted President Mohamed Nasheed as one of the “world's ten best leaders.”
In this week's edition of the magazine, President Nasheed is ranked 2nd in a list of “ten leaders [who] have managed to win serious respect.”
Newsweek lauds the President a “green guru” and a “hero among environmentalists” for his efforts to prod the world into action against climate change, which threatens the Maldives and other vulnerable nations.
“In the run-up to last year's United Nations climate-change meeting, Nasheed attracted global attention by hosting a cabinet meeting underwater. In Copenhagen, he shamed rich governments by pledging to make the Maldives the world's first carbon-neutral nation,” reads the Newsweek article.
“Al Gore likes to quote him on the human cost of climate change. And in April, the U.N. elected him one of six '2010 Champions of the Earth,'” Newsweek continues.
The online version of the magazine includes a video of the President's address to the United Nations General Assembly last year, in which he calls on fellow heads of state to drastically curb greenhouse gas emissions, which cause global warming.
Britain's new Prime Minister, David Cameron, tops the list of best world leaders. Newsweek also names President Nicolas Sarkozy of France, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of India, President Lula da Silva of Brazil and President Lee of South Korea in its roll of honour.
Newsweek, which sells over 1.5 million copies every week, is one of world's most popular political magazines. In 2009, President Nasheed was named a “Hero of the Environment” by Time magazine, Newsweek's main competitor.

        Todays Perfect Recipe

        Perfect Steak Recipe

        Perfect Steak

        How to make Perfect Steak

Jeez I've been eating a lot of steak recently...

This is a very simple method of cooking steaks that gets absolutely fantastic results.  Next time you cook a steak, don't just fry it in oil, try this.  What you get at the end is a steak with miles more flavour, and not dried out on one side which can happen if you're just nuking it in the pan without much thought.  Treat your meat well!

        1. Season the steak generously with salt and pepper.
        2. Heat a glug of olive oil in the pan until it is hot.  You want thesteak to sizzle as soon as it hits the pan.  If it doesn't, that means you're just boiling the meat in oil and too much oil will penetrate the meat, making it greasy.  If it doesn't sizzle, just take the steak out and wait a bit longer.
        3. Seal the steak on one side in the hot oil.  Turn the steak over and add the garlic cloves around it to perfume the meat.
        4. Lay the rosemary sprigs on the steak and add the butter to the pan.  Let the butter get nice and hot, then with a metal spoon start spooning up the butter and meat juices and basting the top side of the steak(pouring it over the rosemary to allow the flavour to permeate the meat).  Tilt the pan slightly to make it easier for you to spoon up the oil.  Careful as you do this, mind.  Keep basting.
        5. Remove the rosemary temporarily with tongs.  Turn the steak over, put the rosemary back on and resume basting.  The oil should sizzle in a satisfying manner when you pour it on the meat.  Numnumnum.
        6. Continue for as long as you like your meat done.  I'm a medium / medium-rare type of guy and like it pink.  Remove the steak from the pan and let it sit for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

I served mine with a garlic mash (so easy, I just grated a clove of garlic, sizzled it in a bit of olive oil and added it to mashed potato with salt and pepper) and some steamed green beans.  A really simple, yet totally delicious dinner.  For one.  Ho hum.

        Black Pepper Beef Tagliatelle Recipe

        Black Pepper Beef Tagliatelle

How to make Black Pepper Beef Tagliatelle

I absolutely love dishes like this.  For some reason, pasta works incredibly well with robust Asian flavours - here a delicious peppery, garlicky sweet sauce.  The combination of Asian flavours with fresh (or good quality dried) pasta is something I thoroughly enjoy experimenting with.  Makes 2 generous portions.

        1. In a blender, pulse together the black peppercorns, mirin, oyster sauce, sesame oil and sugar to a thick paste.  You're looking for a sweet, peppery flavour.  Adjust to your liking - my measurements aren't exact, they are simply where I started off from...
        2. Put some water on the boil in a pan for the pasta.
        3. Heat some olive oil in a wok.  When hot, stir fry together the sliced pepper and mushrooms.  Glug some kecap manis on them to give a little colour.  Season with a bit of salt.  When soft, tip them into a heatproof container and keep aside.
        4. When your pasta water is boiling, add the pasta.  It will cook in about 6 - 10 mins (depending on whether you opted for fresh or dry), and that's more than enough time to finish off the beef.
        5. In the wok, heat a little more oil.  Fry together the beef, garlic, ginger and shallots.  When the beef is cooked through, add the mushrooms and peppers you cooked previous.  Add the pepper sauce from the blender.  Mix well and turn down the heat.
        6. Drain the pasta and add to the beef wok.  Add the chopped coriander and spring onions, mix everything together well, and serve immediately.  Squeeze over fresh lime before eating.

        • 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt, divided
        • 1 cup thinly sliced seeded cucumber
        • 3/4 cup nonfat plain yogurt
        • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro , or mint
        • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
        • Freshly ground pepper , to taste
        • 4 6-inch whole-wheat pitas, warmed
        • 1 cup shredded romaine lettuce
        • 2 small or 1 large tomato, sliced
        • 1/4 cup thinly sliced red onion

        Preparation

        1. Preheat grill to medium-high or position rack in upper third of oven and preheat broiler. If grilling, oil the grill rack (see Tip). If broiling, coat a broiler pan with cooking spray.
        2. Sprinkle chicken with 1 teaspoon garam masala and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Place the chicken on the grill rack or prepared pan and cook until no longer pink in the center and an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part registers 165°F, 4 to 8 minutes per side, depending on the size of the breast. Transfer the chicken to a clean cutting board and let rest for 5 minutes.
        3. Meanwhile, combine cucumber, yogurt, cilantro (or mint), lemon juice, the remaining 1/2 teaspoon garam masala and 1/4 teaspoon salt and pepper in a small bowl. Thinly slice the chicken. Split open the warm pitas and fill with the chicken, yogurt sauce, lettuce, tomato and onion.

        Tips & Notes

        • Make Ahead Tip: Prepare through Step 2. Refrigerate the chicken in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
        • Tips: Garam masala is a blend of spices used in Indian cooking. It is available in the spice section of most supermarkets.
        • To oil a grill rack, oil a folded paper towel, hold it with tongs and rub it over the rack. (Do not use cooking spray on a hot grill.)
